First off, some pics of a recent Emmitoufle, this time in pink. Leilah is featured in the top left of the first pic, helping out as usual.
The next shots are of a work-long-in-progress. Upwards of two years ago I started on a Razor Cami, with the plan to alter it to make it a pullover. I was inspired in this endeavour by a fellow Raveller whose Razor pullover looked lovely. But my knitting skills weren't very advanced at the time. I faked the sleeves, and the first time I knit them they ended up too tight at the top. Again, Leilah can be seen in the top left, helping out.
So I shoved the whole thing in a drawer, and there it sat through two years and a move. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I was cleaning out said drawer and discovered the sweater. I decided to see if I could salvage it. I ripped out the top of the sleeves and gave them a bit of shaping so that they had more of a cap to connect to the body. This was a bit tricky, because the lace pattern involves increases and decreases, which counteracted my attempts to gradually decrease the stitches on either edge.
But I persevered. Admittedly, my sleeves didn't fit into the holes very snugly or smoothly and the seaming is sloppy. The sleeves are also too long. But it is finished!
Currently blocking. I will post more pics of it once it dries.

I can finally reveal my secret fall project: a Patchwork Blanket. The design is by Trudy Evans, and its free on Ravelry, which is lovely.
I used Diamond Baby Alpaca Sport for the yarn. It is deliciously thick and soft (hopefully the pictures give a bit of a sense of this). And I managed to underestimate how much I would need for the border--I'm very good at underestimating my yarn requirements--which resulted in an intensive weeks-long search for a single skein of beige to finish. But, at last, here it is:

I haven't been blogging, but I have been knitting. The Ethereal Shawl continues slowly, as does my revamp of the Linen Stitch Pillowcase.
In the meantime, I've picked up some gorgeous Baby Alpaca Sport from Diamond.
It's wonderfully thick and warm. Project is TBA, but at the rate I'm going it will be winter by the time it's finished anyway, so the texture will be appropriate.

This one has actually been done for a week or two, but I just got around to taking pictures of it.
It's a Kayla Shrug by Americo, and it is one of the best knits I've done. It was quick and simple, despite seeming a bit crazy from the pattern (it's knit in a big oval of sorts).
I knit it in Americo Winter Flamme, and it has a lovely, stretchy drape to it.
From the side and back...
Should be nice for summer evenings. Speaking of which, happy May 24th all.
